Newly crowned Premier League winners Manchester United will hold a victory parade on the streets of Manchester on May 30th after clinching their 19th title after a 1-1 at Blackburn Rovers.

An open-top bus will give fans the chance to join in the celebrations with the players when the parade gets underway at lunchtime.

With the parade coming just two days after the Champions League final, United fans will be hoping for a double celebration as their side look to add a fourth European trophy to their domestic title.

Chief executive David Gill revealed the club have been inundated with requests from fans to hold a parade after the club failed to in 2008 when United won the double.

“Breaking the record of league title wins is a big day in the club’s illustrious history,” he said.

“We have received many letters and e-mails from fans encouraging us to hold a public celebration of that achievement and we believe this is a fitting way to mark it.”

Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, said: “Manchester United winning their 19th top flight title is a remarkable and historic achievement.

“We’re sure fans will come out in their droves to celebrate and acclaim their heroes and that 30 May will be a memorable day for the whole city.”
