Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has set his sights on moving to a club in a bigger league, his agent, Rob Jansen, has revealed.

The Netherlands international, whose contract expires in 2012, has attracted the interest of clubs such as Schalke, Arsenal and Manchester United, while Goal.com revealed earlier this month that Tottenham are also interested in signing the player.

And Jansen says that his client still has the ambition of moving abroad, telling Algemeen Dagblad: “We are obviously listening to what Ajax want. They have always been a good employer and we have a good relationship.

“However, Maarten has clearly set his sights on a transfer to a good club in a bigger league.”
