Manchester United fans hoping to see their side seal the league title at Ewood Park on Saturday have been warned against purchasing tickets for the Blackburn end of the ground by police.

Several tickets have been spotted for sale online by Rovers fans, but police are warning that fans found in the wrong section of the ground will be removed.

Superintendent Jon Puttock said: “Our message to people intending to travel without a ticket is to not bother.

“Blackburn Rovers club staff will also be carrying out spot checks of tickets for visiting supporters sitting in the home sections and anyone found to do so will be facing ejection from the stadium.”

Greater Manchester Police are also confident they can deal with the large numbers of travelling rival supporters as Manchester City fans will be making their way down to London on the same day to watch their side face Stoke in the FA Cup final.
