The President of the Malawi Congress of Trade Union Urges On African Governments to Live Up to Pledge of Remedy of Unemployment

Khartoum, May 11(SUNA)- The president of the Malawi Congress of Trade Unions (MCTU) , Luther Mambala, told the Sudan news agency that African government should live up to their pledges to provide work opportunity and end the rampant unemployment among the African youth He pointed out that the African governments have been making promises they would resolve this problem but after assuming power they would turn their back to the question and that this constitute a great risk.

He said the period of waiting for employment is very critical for the youth and could lead to serious consequences for those governments He said the future is for the youth and that African continent should deal with the issue of unemployment in a serious manner and objectively Mr. Luther has stressed that the issue has to be discussed in all frankness with the youth to avoid catastrophic endings. He said it was also imperative to train and to employ youth who have not gone to the universities and colleges as they constitute high pillar in the community upon which the governments relay to achieve their political, economic and social objectives.
