WALVIS Bay’s ‘land development programme’ in Meersig, Narraville, Kuisebmond and the new light industrial area is nearly 90 per cent completed for the current financial year.
“The new erven should be ready for auction within the next month or two. This is just one indication of our seriousness to develop Walvis Bay into Namibia’s premier hub,” said the harbour town’s Mayor, Derek Klazen. Nearly 650 erven are being serviced, with about 80 of these in the new ‘light industrial area’.
Walvis Bay’s population is approximately 70 000, and it is estimated that this figure grows by about five per cent annually.
