Army, police, prison and intelligence commanders have vowed to never salute Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai even if he beats President Robert Mugabe in an election. Galgala — The semi-autonomous state of Puntland on Wednesday proclaimed that their forces are still controlling the mountainous village of Galgala after fierce fighting Islamist fighters loyal to Sheikh Mohammed Sa’id Atom.

General Yusuf Ahmed Kheryr, Puntland’s home security minister told BBC Somali Service that their security forces have under attack from the extremist fighters of Sheikh Atom.

But, the minister noted that they repulsed and killed a large number of Islamist militiamen.

He said the battles subsided and the attackers fled from the town taking irretrievable losses.
