Dudgeon had a spell on loan at Carlisle this season
Hull City have signed 20-year-old full-back Joe Dudgeon from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The Leeds-born youngster, who plays predominantly at left-back, has been a regular in the United reserve team but not made a first-team appearance.
Dudgeon, who had a loan spell at Carlisle cut short by injury this season, has signed a three-year deal.
He joins James Chester, Cameron Stewart and Corry Evans as former Old Trafford players now at the KC Stadium.
