Inflation may go up to 18 percent by fourth quarter of this year due to poor food harvests as a result of inadequate rains according to CFC Stanbic Economic analysts. Currently the inflation rates are just below ten percent. The analysts have also revised projected growth to between 4.3 and 5% this year, attributed to inflationary pressure, high fuel prices and expected increase in political activities. They now want the Central bank to step in with measures to help moderate lending rates and stimulate growth.
