The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has given an assurance that the fire out-break at the Warri Pipeline and Product Marketing Company depot would not affect the loading of trucks from there.
NNPC Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, Dr Levi Ajuonuma, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja.
NAN reports that an explosion said to have been caused by a spark from a truck waiting to load occurred on Monday at the loading terminal of the Warri depot.
Ajuonuma, who confirmed the incident, said two tankers waiting to load the product were involved.
He, however, said the incident had since been brought under control.
Ajuonuma explained that loading of tankers resumed on Tuesday as a result of the timely intervention of the relevant agencies.
