Officers at the Monrovia City Court and police have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Kenneh and detained him at the Monrovia Central Prison for allegedly stealing US$500,000, while a writ of arrest is pursuing his spouse, Mariama Kenneh, in connection with the alleged theft. She is still at large.
The Monrovia City Court ordered the arrest of the couple, who were employees of the import company Srimex, for allegedly diverting US$500,000 in company funds into their private account. The company is owned by the politician Mr. Musa Bility.
The court charged them with theft of property in violation of Section 15.51 of the criminal laws of Liberia, pending court trial.
