Al-Tahir Welcomes Any Egyptian Initiative for the Interest of the Country

Khartoum — Speaker of National Assembly Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir has affirmed his welcome to any initiative from Egypt for the interest of Sudan, saying that “If Egypt approaches us one stride, we will advance to it two strides.”This came during his speech in a banquet the National Assembly organized at its premises for the delegation of the Egyptian political parties. Al-Tahir said that the revolution of Egyptian youths has made unprecedented democratic change as it followed a peaceful method against a tyrant regime famous of its brutal tools in suppressing the people.

He added that the revolution succeeded in compelling the late regime to respond to the requirements of Egyptian people represented in restoration of freedom and democracy. The Chairman of the Egyptian Delegation of Political Parties and Head of Al-Wafd Party Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Badawi, for his part, said that the revolution of Egyptian youths erupted with no leader; however it was mobilized by the hearts of the Egyptian people, explaining that their visit to Sudan came to ensure eternality of the robust bonds between the two peoples of the Nile Valley. He added that the people of Sudan has a privacy to the people of Egypt particularly to Al-Wafd Party and all Egyptian civil society organizations, revealing that the Egyptian delegation held a number of meetings with the Sudanese political and executive leaderships in the context of discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting them further. It is to be recalled that the Egyptian delegation included several Egyptian political parties besides media men, businessmen and civil society organizations.
