Luanda — The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Afonso Pedro Canga, said on Tuesday in Luanda that the Angolan government is strongly committed to improve practices of cultivation and agrarian production through exchange of experience with foreign companies, aimed for agricultural modernisation.
The minister said so to Angop on Tuesday while addressing the opening ceremony of the technical activity on “Farming Development of Angola”.
The official said that land and water are not enough for the national development, but it is also needed to adopt and create new technologies to explore the available natural resources.
Afonso Canga encouraged the foreign companies, in particular, to invest in more in the country through branches, by seizing the business opportunities of creating goods and services in the agrarian sector.
The minister announced that the executive will set up new public and private partnerships in farming and fisheries sector, with institutional and technical supports of the Agronomic and Fishing Institute.
The event was attended by national and foreign experts, banking officials and senior employees of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The meeting, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and by the Integral Farming Service Society “Agromundo”, is ending this Tuesday.
