Fletcher: Netted twice against the Baggies to move on to 11 goals for the season
Wolves striker Steven Fletcher is hoping to set a new personal best for goals scored in English football.
The Scot moved into double figures for the season on Sunday when he netted twice in a crucial 3-1 derby win over local rivals West Brom.
A brace against the Baggies took him onto 11 for the season, one short of his return for Burnley in 2009/10 as the Clarets slipped out of the Premier League.
Fletcher was drafted in by Mick McCarthy last summer to get the goals to see Wolves save and he hopes he can repay his manager’s faith and give the Molineux faithful something to shout about.

“I have not made as many starts as I would have liked, so I’m absolutely delighted to have got into double figures for the season,” he said.

“And it was nice to hear the fans chanting my name – it’s much better than having them shout at me!
“Hopefully, I can go on to beat my tally of 12 for Burnley last year, but I’m just happy to win games; if I have to pass the ball to someone to score an easier chance, then I will.
“Staying up is the most important thing. We’re out of the bottom three now and we want to keep it that way.
“It’s a boost for all the boys, and the fans as well, and hopefully we can go to Sunderland on Saturday and get the job done up there as well.”
