Jamie Carragher preferred to focus on Liverpool’s exhilarating performance after making his 666th appearance for the club in their 5-2 victory over Fulham on Monday night.
The veteran defender, 33, is now second on Liverpool’s all-time list of appearance-makers and was delighted to mark the occasion with a thumping win.
Maxi Rodriguez scored a hat-trick to take his goal tally to seven in three matches, with Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez also on target.
“We’ve been playing well of late, confidence is good and we’ve been looking forward to games. It was just one of those days for us,” he told Sky Sports.

“We played very well, with the start and the early goals.
“When you’re winning everything’s enjoyable. We just want to keep this run going.
“The fans will be happy, it’s a late night for a lot of us but we’ve got to look forward to keeping it going against Tottenham (at home on Sunday).”
Clean slate
Liverpool have moved above Spurs into fifth but Carragher would not make any predictions about next season, despite the excellent run of form since Dalglish took over.
He added: “Next season is a clean slate for everyone.
“We hope we can take this form into next season but I won’t make silly boasts or put expectations on ourselves.”
Pressed on his own landmark appearance, Carragher said: “That’s a nice achievement for myself and it’s even better now that we’ve won.”
Asked if he had plans to emulate the longevity of 37-year-old Manchester United star Ryan Giggs, Carragher continued: “I certainly don’t think I’ll do what he does. He’s a one-off.
“I just want to keep playing as long as I can and do my best for Liverpool.”
