Findings from France race quota inquiry to be presented on Tuesday

The French Football Federation (FFF) has announced it will reveal the results of detailed inquiries into the race quota allegations later this week.

An inquiry into allegations from French website Mediapart, which claimed the FFF had designed plans to limit the number of minority players for the national side, was opened on Monday in which France coach Laurent Blanc gave evidence.

The latest indications from France suggest race quotas were originally discussed during a meeting on November 8, 2010.

AFP reports Blanc relayed he was apologetic regarding certain comments held during the meeting about the quotas to the hearing on Monday afternoon.

The former Bordeaux boss has not denied the “reality of the conversation” and “regretted” certain remarks, saying that he was not directly involved in the gathering discussing the quotas.

Furthermore, the inquiry pointed the responsibility toward FFF technical director François Blaquart, the person they believe to be at “the origin of the conversations”, and a “lack of circulation of information in the FFF” according to a source close to the probe.

The first conclusions of the ministry of Sports’ findings will be revealed on Tuesday by Minister Chantal Jouanno, while the Federal Council will meet on Thursday over the conclusions of the internal probe of the FFF.
