Fulham manager Mark Hughes has revealed his club have been monitoring Espanyol’s in-demand striker Dani Osvaldo.

The powerful 25-year-old has been in excellent form for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season, netting 11 times in the league despite missing two months of the campaign with a thigh injury.

Osvaldo’s impressive displays have alerted a number of established Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Aston Villa, and Hughes has expressed his admiration for the player, who is reportedly valued at around £10 million.

“We have followed the boy Osvaldo for a long time now and I think everyone is aware of this and we are not going to hide it,” the 47-year-old said in Catalan newspaper Sport.

“I don’t want to say anything else about the topic because he belongs to another club.

“He is a very good player and we will see how this matter turns out.”
