Paa Kwesi Nduom: HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

First I wish to express appreciation to the person/s who conceived the idea to celebrate the contributions and achievements of mothers. Second, we all know that women in general are not given the recognition they deserve for all they do.

Mothers are in a special class. Only they know what they go through those nine months when they carry a baby from conception to birth. The connection between mother and child, we of the male species can only imagine!

Third, when a child grows up and succeeds, there is a mother who made it happen. Attention, worry, advice (even when rejected and/or thrown back!) are part of a mother’s arsenal. The eternal optimism that there is something positive there just waiting to be discovered and the belief that the child is good, comes naturally to most mothers.

Indeed, a good mother makes a father a hero.

A good mother makes her child a star.

That is why on this Mother’s Day, we must all say a prayer for, say thank you to and do something special for the special mother/s in our lives.
