Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou insists that winning the Premier League this season would be the “greatest ever comeback” in history.

The Blues were 15 points behind league leaders Manchester United some two months ago, but are now presented with the opportunity to go top of the league if they manage to beat the Red Devils at Old Trafford today.

Yet even if they secure that precious victory at Old Trafford, Carlo Ancelotti’s charges would still have to maintain a better goal difference than their rivals in order to retain the title.

Now the Ivorian claims that such an achievement would be the best comeback in the history of the league.

“This would be the greatest ever comeback, for sure,” Kalou said, according to The News of the World.

“Two months ago nobody believed we would be in this position and now we go to Old Trafford to fight for the title.

“We are fighting to retain our trophy and that is the best incentive you can have.

“We went there last year and won and went on to win the title and we have the belief again this time.

“I think retaining our title this season would be our greatest achievement.”
