Jacob Ajom 7 May 2011 Home — Home-based Super Eagles romped over Niger Republic 4-0 yesterday to become the first team to qualify for the semi final of the second edition of the 2011 WAFU Cup tournament going on in Abeokuta, South West Nigeria. The match started under very hot tropical weather which was of no good to both sides, but the Eagles were able to adjust and set about their mission early in the match. Bartholomew Ibenegbu opened scores for Nigeria in the third minute of play after combining well with fast rising star, Ekigho Ehiosun and Uzoenyi Chrisantus

Luanda — 1º de Agosto captain, Carlos Alonso “Kaly”, Thursday in Luanda, expressed the conviction and termination of his team to beat FUS Rabat of Morocco, in the CAF Confederation Cup second round qualifying match on Saturday at Coqueiros Stadium.

Speaking to the press after a training session, the defender stated that all players are aware of the efforts required to achieve the team’s and country’s objective.

During Thursday’s session, the team now under new coach, the Portuguese Carlos Manuel, focused on drillings with and without the ball.

Morocco’s FUS Rabat is already in the country, and is holding a training session at Coqueiros stadium. In the first round game, the sides drew 1-1.
