Tottenham Hotspur have made two changes to the side who controversially lost 2-1 at Chelsea last week.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has a hamstring injury, so manager Harry Redknapp has resisted put Gareth Bale at left-back while handing Danny Rose, who scored a sensational volley against Arsenal on his debut last season, a start on the left flank.
The winger, who has spent the season on loan at Bristol City, comes in for his second ever Spurs start, whilst Jermain Defoe replaced Aaron Lennon and will start alongside Roman Pavluychenko in a revamped 4-4-2 formation.
Spurs will have been buoyed by Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Everton and they can close the gap on fourth place to four points.
Blackpool have matched Tottenham’s set-up, as they bring in Belarusian striker Sergey Kornilenko to partner DJ Campbell up front, in place of Matt Phillips.
One point will see Ian Holloway’s team leapfrog Wigan into 17th place, as they attempt to seal the double over the north London side.
