Championship winners Queens Park Rangers have been fined £875,000 by the FA after being found guilty of two charges.

The London side were accused of seven separate charges by the FA, but a tribunal hearing announced today that they would not be docked any points and instead they have been given a relatively small fine.

It was announced on the FA’s website that QPR have been charged £800,000 for breaching FA rule E3 and another £75,000 for breaching FA Football Agents Regulations, A1.

The Commission who heard the case have asked that 50% of the costs of the Regulatory Commission also be paid and the club have been warned about their future conduct.

The FA had been investigating the transfer of Alejandro Faurlin to QPR in 2009 for £3.5 million since September, but had waited until minutes before the final match of the season to announce their findings.

The announcement has come as a great relief for QPR, who were today crowned winners of the Championship and were able to celebrate in front of their wn fans.

In a statement after the ruling, the FA said: “The regulatory commission hearing charges brought by the FA against Queens Park Rangers FC wish to announce that although two of the charges have been found to be proved there will be no points deduction made from Queens Park Rangers FC in this season or the next.”

Fourth placed Cardiff City have since announced that they will not challenge the ruling, meaning the play-offs are expected to go ahead as originally planned.
