JS Kabylie are through to the next round of the Confederation Cup after a remarkable comeback against Missile FC of Gabon.

The Algerian giants lost the first leg in Libreville 3-0, but won the second, home leg of their tie by the same score and then went through on penalties.

Saad Tedjar scored twice in the first half and Ali Cherif-Yahia completed the win on the hour mark.

Kabylie won the subsequent penalty shoot-out 3-0.

Kabylie will now play one of the defeated teams from the third round of the African Champions League.

There are six remaining matches to be played in the Confederation Cup over the weekend.

Reigning champions FUS Rabat of Morocco are in danger of exiting the tournament as they take on Angola’s Primeiro Agosto in Luanda with a 1-1 draw from the first leg.

Two other Moroccan teams, MAS and Difaa al-Jadida, have a strong chance of making it through as they defend big leads from the first legs of their ties.

MAS earned a 5-1 first leg win over Al Khartoum of Sudan and Jadida had a 3-0 victory over Madagascar’s Adema – both are away from home this weekend.

In other matches, Kenya’s Sofapaka will try to overturn a 2-1 first leg defeat by DR Congo’s St Eloi Lupopo, Nigeria’s Sunshine Stars take a 2-0 first-leg lead to USFA of Burkina Faso and Harras el Hadoud of Egypt defend a 2-1 lead from the opening leg of their tie in Kinshasa, where they play DR Congo’s DC Motema Pembe.

Kaduna United of Nigeria have already secured their place in the next round, after Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia refused to travel for the first leg of their tie on security grounds.
