Lagos, 6th May 2011: Coca-Cola, will, on Sunday celebrate 125 years since its inventor, Dr. John Stith Pemberton, produced the syrup for this iconic brand in Atlanta, Georgia on May 8, 1886.
The event marks an important milestone in the history of The Coca-Cola Company and is being celebrated in many countries around the world, including Nigeria, by creating and sharing moments of happiness in a way Coca-Cola always has – bringing people together through music, art and entertainment.

As part of the plans to mark this milestone, Coca-Cola will release limited edition packaging in select markets around the world.
Worldwide, people can now enjoy the Coca-Cola heritage archives through the new Virtual Museum, an online 360-degree tour of the never-before-seen Coca-Cola archives, which can be found at www.theverybestofcocacola.com.
In Nigeria, the 125th Anniversary of Coca-Cola will be marked with a number of exciting activations designed to enable Coca-Cola consumers in several cities to experience the brand’s ‘Open Happiness’ campaign. The company will also host an exclusive event for its business partners and industry leaders in Lagos.
