Didier Drogba’s agent claims Chelsea striker has not been contacted by Manchester City regarding summer switch

The agent of Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has played down talk of the Ivorian ace leaving the London club in a switch for Manchester City.

It has been rumoured that the former Marseille man could make the move to Eastlands with the apparently unsettled Carlos Tevez going the other way, but the African’s agent, Tierno Seydhi, says that there has been no contact between the clubs.

It had been suggested that the Ivory Coast international had become disillusioned with life at Stamford Bridge after the arrival of £50 million man Fernando Torres.

Drogba has become a talismanic figure at the west London outfit and was very much a key man in the club’s championship winning season last year, as well an important contributor in their resurgence in the title race in recent weeks.

Seydhi says the player is to hold talks about his future at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and claims that the 33-year-old is happy with life with the Blues, but recognises Manchester City’s potential to succeed on a continental and domestic level.

He told Sky Sports: “Didier Drogba has a contract until 2012 with Chelsea. He is settled in England and loves to play for Chelsea.

“We are waiting until the end of the season, when we will have a chat with the Chelsea officials and see.

“We have not been contacted by City at the moment so we can’t say anything about it.

“But we all know they want to be a force in England and Europe.”
