They are Isaac Osei, Subin; Dr Antony Akoto Osei, Tafo-Pankrono; Mr Kwabena Appiah-Pinkra, Akrofuom; Mr Collins Ntim, Offinso North, and Alhaji Ben Abdalla, Offinso South
Representatives of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the various constituencies at separate ceremonies supervised the acclamation of those candidates, amidst wild jubilation.
In Subin, there was a show of political maturity as the two candidates who had contested Mr Osei in the primary three years ago, Mr Ayisi-Boateng and Mr Eugene Antwi, as well as the former MP for the constituency, Mr S.K. Boafo, were at the grounds for the acclamation to show solidarity with Mr Osei.
Earlier in the morning, Mr Osei had had breakfast of unity with the three aforementioned politicians at his residence.
Mr Boafo said the time had come for members of the NPP to unite to ensure resounding victory in 2012.
Mr Antwi said it was time the members eschewed wrangling, petty squabbles, animosities and other negative tendencies and came together to work hard to regain power.
He noted that the time had come for the party to take over from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stressing that that called for a concerted effort.
Mr Ayisi-Boateng recalled an incident that happened after the primary three years ago and noted that the maturity exhibited by Mr Osei from that time to date indicated that he was formidable in the political game.
He called on all to forget the past and work in close collaboration to enable the party to win handsomely in both the presidential and parliamentary elections in 2012.
Mr Osei, in response, commended the people for the wonderful reception given him and promised that he would not disappoint them but work hard with them to wrest power from NDC.
He also commended Messrs Boafo, Ayisi-Boateng and Antwi for the confidence they had reposed in him and said he would not disappoint them.
He called on all to work towards the party’s bid to win the 2012 elections.
In Akrofuom, the delegates, who were enthusiastic about Mr Appiah-Pinkrah’s performance, mobbed him to demonstrate their unflinching support for him and wished him God’s guidance to enable him to continue with his development programmes.
The Constituency Chairman, Mr Baffour Awuah, enumerated a number of development projects and programmes Mr Appiah-Pinkrah had carried out that he said, had brought significant changes and improvement to the people in the constituency.
In Asante-Mampong, the incumbent MP for Mampong, Mr Francis Addai-Nimoh, beat his opponent, Mr Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, a former Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi, India, when the MP obtained 294 votes, as against Mr Sarpong’s 195.
