Rally ace Jas Mangat has opted out of the Southern Motor Club (SMC) Challenge Rally due this weekend in Masaka.

Mangat’s return for the third round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) event has been halted by the delay in arrival of his Subaru N12B electronic control unit computer system from United Kingdom.

“It’s unfortunate this system will not be here until Saturday. That means I will not be able to do the route recceing and scrutineering as per schedule,” said Mangat yesterday.

The SMC Rally has already been robbed of former NRC winner Ronald Ssebuguzi but 27 crews are expected.
