Ashley Cole thriving under the pressure as Chelsea chase Manchester United for Premier League title

Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole claims he is revelling in the pressure as Carlo Ancelotti’s side continue to push Manchester United all the way for the Premier League title.

With the two sides meeting at Old Trafford on Sunday, and Chelsea only three points behind the Red Devils, the result will be a crucial one in deciding the title.

Cole believes the memory of winning previous titles drives his side on, and claims he still has plenty of fight left in him despite the success he’s already had in his career.

“I think the pressure is what drives people on. It makes you want to prove something, to carry on going and keep on winning things. I just want to win anything because I love the feeling,” he told Chelsea’s official club magazine.

“I’ve still got many years of desire left in me and the players we have here are all the same as me in that respect.

“When you win things, that’s what makes you realise how good it is.”

Cole, who has played in every league match this season, is keen to add to his medal collection which includes three Premier League titles and a record six FA Cup winner’s medals.

“When you stop getting that feeling, I think that’s when a lot of players tend to stop playing football because they haven’t got the desire anymore,” he added.

Chelsea will be hoping for a repeat of last year’s result when they beat United 2-1 at Old Trafford on their way to clinching the League title under Guus Hiddink.
