Bayern Munich keen on Manchester City’s Jerome Boateng & Emmanuel Adebayor – report

Jerome Boateng could be on his way out of Manchester City at the end of the season as Bayern Munich have shown an interest in signing the defender, according to Munchner Merkur.

The Bavarians are desperate to strengthen their back line in the summer transfer window and sporting director Christian Nerlinger reportedly considers the 22-year-old as the perfect signing.

Nevertheless, Nerlinger denied reports that Bayern have already agreed personal terms with the former Hamburg star.

He commented: “It’s not correct that we’ve already agreed terms. We’re keeping tabs on him, but that’s difficult now because of his injury.”

Additionally, Manchester City are reluctant to let go of Boateng as the club see him as an important player for the long-term vision of coach Roberto Mancini.

City’s technical director Mike Rigg said: “We have big plans with Jerome. He’s an important part of our plans for the future. We’ll be playing Champions League qualifiers next term and want to do so with Jerome. He’s not for sale.”

Boateng is not the only City player who has caught the attention of Bayern, as they are also closely monitoring the situation of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Bayern reportedly see the 27-year-old as a suitable replacement for Miroslav Klose, who is expected to leave the club this summer, and they are keen to open talks with the Eastlands club.

Adebayor is currently on loan at Real Madrid, but the Spanish side are unlikely to use their option to buy the striker for €13 million (£11.5m), and he is widely expected to be offloaded on a permanent deal this summer.
