The Citizen (Dar es Salaam) 3 May 2011 The May Day strike staged in Dar es Salaam by upcountry bus drivers and conductors to protest poor work conditions and employment terms should serve as a reminder that the country's transport sector is in a serious need for radical changes. The drivers claim that they have to contend with shoddy contracts that leave them at the mercy of employers who can sack them at will.The drivers and conductors are subjected to working long hours that entail manning a bus for days on end, including time some have to spent in faraway countries.

Our client SAVANNAH ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (SADA) is an independent agency mandated by the Government of Ghana to coordinate a comprehensive development agenda for the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana. To achieve the agenda of promoting sustainable economic and social development, eradicating poverty, and improving quality of life, SADA seeks experienced professionals to join its senior management team.

Your role:
You will report to the Director, Integrated Development Programmes and be responsible for leading conceptualisation and implementation of a new paradigm of agricultural modernisation based on private sector led agric development and out grower scheme

Duty Location: Tamale and the Northern Savannah Area

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum of Masters degree in agriculture, agricultural economics or related field
Minimum 10 years experience, 5 in senior management position
Knowledge and experience in statistical procedures, environment and infrastructure modelling, development planning and zoning laws, regulations, guidelines and best practice
Relevant professional qualification and training
Candidates must be literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
