The LA Galaxy midfielder, who turned 36 on Monday, believes he has the health and fitness to play on for at least another three years before calling it a day.
After attending Friday’s royal wedding in London, Beckham returned to America on Saturday and played the majority of his side’s defeat to Dallas.
He told reporters: “As long as I feel healthy and fit, I will continue to play. And, right now, I feel great. I feel ready to play for one, two, three more years.
“I got badly injured last year and I have been working hard to get my body back to full fitness.”
Beckham was substituted with seven minutes remaining and the game poised at 1-1, but a thunderstorm held the remaining minutes up for an hour, and Galaxy lost 2-1.
