Cristiano Ronaldo and Irina Shayk enjoy passionate reunion at Real Madrid game

He wasn’t playing, so perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t feel the need to pay attention.

The footballer attended his team Real Madrid’s game against Zaragoza, but rather than watching the on-field action intently, Cristiano only had eyes for girlfriend Irina Shayk.

The good-looking couple, who are forced to regularly spend weeks apart thanks to work commitments, enjoyed a passionate reunion in their box at the match in Madrid.

His coach Jose Mourinho may not be too thrilled to witness the Portuguese player’s apparent lack of interest in the game.

There is already tension between him and the 26-year-old, and Cristiano was benched for the game at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He didn’t appear to mind not taking part though, as he whispered sweet nothings to his  Russian girlfriend and pleaded with her for a kiss.

Irina, 25, actually appeared the more interested party as she watched the game out of the corner of her eye while Cristiano leaned in for a kiss.

She finally relented though and embraced her boyfriend of a year.

Irina flew in form New York, where last week she attended a party to celebrate the launch of Cantamessa Jewelry.

The couple eventually made their way to their seats after their canoodling and a quick snack, but Cristiano’s team lost 3-2.

He will be back on the pitch tonight for Real Madrid’s Champion’s League match against rivals Barcelona, it was announced yesterday.

Ronaldo raised eyebrows last week when he criticised coach Mourinho’s defensive tactics in their first game against Barcelona, which they lost 2-0.

Questioned on his opinion on the tactics, Ronaldo said: ‘No, I don’t like it but I have to adapt to what is asked of me. This is the way it is. We have a strategy.’
