PF Dumping Ground Says Lifwekelo

THE Forum for Leadership Search Zambia (FLSZ) has said Patriotic Front (PF)’s calls for change of Government cannot be achieved through rejected politicians whose aim is to incite hatred against President Rupiah Banda and the Government.

In a statement released to the Times yesterday, FLSZ executive director Edwin Lifwekelo said it was sad that PF had become a “dumping ground” for rejected MMD and United Party for National Development (UPND) members.

He said recycled politicians like former minister of Defence George Mpombo, former Works and Supply minister, Mike Mulongoti and former Zambian ambassador to Libya, Mbita Chitala had no political stamina to influence change of Government.

“Mr Mpombo, Mulongoti and Chitala unfortunately are the Tom and Jerry of Zambian politics, their only objective and mission is to fix President Banda,” Mr Lifwekelo said.

He said the trio represented frustrated and rejected politicians who had teamed up for a common cause of attacking Mr Banda.

Mr Lifwekelo said recent statements by Mr Mpombo reflected who he was.

“Mr Mpombo’s statement on President Banda is a well-known reflection of who he is because what you say reflects who you are.

“The Bible says vengeance is from God and those who plot evil plot in vain and that out of the abundance of their hearts, the mouth speaks, meaning what you say about others speaks volumes about you,” Mr Lifwekelo said.

He said Mr Mpombo’s statement that Mr Banda was cursed was a true reflection of Mr Mpombo and the newspapers that allegedly published the article.

“We long for the days of late UPND leader Anderson Mazoka who dealt with real issues like providing alternative budgets to the ruling Government,” Mr Lifwekelo said.
