Luanda — The president of the World 7th Day Adventist Church, pastor Ted Wilson, ended his five-day visit to Angola on Monday, during which he met with his congregation’s community and learned of its functioning in the country.
At the end of the visit, pastor Wilson told journalists that he was leaving Angola with the sentiment of accomplished duty and thanked the hospitality granted to him and his delegation by the church and Government authorities.
During his stay in the country from April 28 to May 2, Ted Wilson inaugurated the headquarters of the Northeastern Union of Angola that is in its first stage of construction on Friday.
On Saturday, he performed a special mass for the faithful at Cidadela stadium, before visiting central Huambo province on Sunday.
Among other activities in Angola, pastor Ted Wilson witnessed the signing of a protocol between the 7th Day Adventist Church and the Luanda province Governor.
The protocol will cover joint and independent actions in such social areas as health, education, women promotion, fight against poverty, distribution of drinking water, seeds and others.
Ted Wilson came to Angola accompanied by his wife Nancy Louise Wilson and the church’s president for Southern Africa and Indian Ocean, Paul Ratsara.
He was received in audience by Luanda governor, José Maria dos Santos, with whom he discussed matters linked to cooperation between the two institutions.
At departure, the world leader of the 7th Day Adventist Church was seen off by hundreds of faithful.
