Sharks to help Forster recovery

Sale Sharks prop Jack Forster will remain with the club to recover from a chronic neck injury despite being out of contract this summer.

The 24-year-old has been restricted to 11 appearances this year due to injury.

Executive director of sport Steve Diamond said: “This comes after Jack has worked so hard to regain fitness.

“He is a popular member of the squad and we are going to help Jack with his rehabilitation, in an effort to help him overcome this injury.”

Forster began his career at the Sharks academy but joined Gloucester in 2005, spending four years at Kingsholm.

The Wigan-born front-row forward returned to the north west on a two-year deal in 2009.

“Jack will be staying involved with the club and we will be monitoring his progress regularly,” Diamond added.

“We have not set a time limit on Jack’s return, but he is a young and very committed professional and is very keen on wanting to play for us again in the future.”
