The residents, who spoke with our reporter lamented that Mararaba has suffered infrastructural decay over the years, as successive administrations in the state failed to provide such amenities.
Bashir Mohammed, a resident, told the new governor to provide potable water, constant electricity supply and good road in the area.
“For the whole of Mararaba, the private boreholes are not enough and we want government to construct more so that residents can have access to potable water,” he said.
He said residents are sometimes wary of water carried by water vendors (mai-ruwas) because they do not know their sources.
Another resident, Bekky Awodi, called on the governor elect to embark on aggressive structural planning of Mararaba, which is jam-packed with buildings and overcrowded.
Monday Abah on his part wants the governor-elect to give adequate attention to education and agricultural development, by making fertilizers available and affordable for farmers in the area.
A resident, Emmanuel Negedu, called on the governor-elect to tackle the problem of epileptic power supply in the area and to control street urchins, who usually hang around Mararaba junction to perpetrate crimes.
Simeon Akwuji, another resident, advised the governor-elect to provide jobs for youths in the area and endeavour to provide more modern facilities that will benefit residents of the area.
On his part, Onogwu Reuben, wants the governor-elect to tackle environmental problems by setting up an effective sanitation agency that will help clear heaps of dirt in the area.
