BY CHIDI NKWOPARA OWERRI-The controversy trailing the alleged inconclusive gubernatorial poll in Imo State has taken a new dimension as the leadership of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has said it would not participate in the supplementary poll, if the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Professor Selina Okoh, was not removed immediately. Addressing newsmen in Owerri, APGA governorship candidate, Chief Rochas Okorocha, said the same thing will apply if staff of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, were not removed from the ad-hoc list of INEC.

LAGOS – A Police In spector, a Sergeant and two Constables were,  have been arrested in Lagos for allegedly conniving with some persons to steal NITEL underground cables. Sources said the four policemen were attached to Area D Command headquarters, Mushin.

According to sources, the thieves numbering about seven had arrived a spot along the Isolo road Mushin Weekend,  about 50 metres from the Area Command with three vehicles, a Mercedez Benz loaded with large sums of money,  a Golf and a big truck assisted by four policemen in a Lagos coloured commercial bus and were about excavating the cables at about 2.00am when they were spotted by some vigilante group.
