The accused pleaded guilty to the charge of mischief and was sentenced to one week imprisonment without fine option.
Prosecutor Yilkudi Dungji told the court that on April 24, one Kazeem Ojuade of Phase II Federal Housing Authority, Lugbe reported to the police that on the same date, the accused insulted him and when he demanded to know the reason behind such action, the accused parked his motorcycle and banged his car repeatedly.
He further told the court that after banging the complainant’s car, the accused removed a knife and damaged his car tyres valued at N14,000 and removed N10,000 as well as his handset valued at N50,000, adding that the accused confessed to damaging the car tyres during police investigations.
The accused pleaded guilty to causing mischief and denied other charges, while the prosecutor asked the court for summary trial on the charge he admitted and fixed hearing on other charges denied by the accused.
Magistrate Aminu Abdullahi granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 with a reliable surety in like sum, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
