‘I’ll never forgive Uduaghan’, says Clark

WARRI- ELDER statesman and former Minister for Information, Chief Edwin Clark, remained unperturbed, Monday, as he vowed that he would never forgive Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, who he accused of rigging his way to office for a second term in the April 26 governorship poll.

Though, he urged Deltans, who were protesting the outcome of the governorship election to be peaceful and not take the laws into their  hands because there were legal means of obtaining justice, Clark unambiguously declared  that his battle with Uduaghan would continue.

The Ijaw leader who was apparently reacting to the call on Deltans at a thanksgiving service by Uduaghan on Sunday at the Word of Life Bible Church, Warri, by the national chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, to forgive the governor and join forces with him to move the state forward said, “I will never forgive him”.

According to him, “It is not enough that after someone stole something, he will go to church for thanksgiving and ask for forgiveness, God will never answer such prayers, and the person must carry out restitution too.”

“What Uduaghan would have done if he has conscience is to go to the President and say, look, my family members have caused a lot of hardship to Deltans, a lot of them are in jail already in London, so please I don’t want to continue as a governor.” Clark added.

He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega to sack Dr. Ada George, Delta State Resident Electoral Commissioner for allegedly conniving with politicians to rig the just concluded poll.

Clark said that he and his faction of the PDP had never engaged in anti-party activities, saying “which of them has never engaged in anti-party activities, Peter Nwaoboshi, the State Chairman has done it, Uduaghan has done it too.”
