Michael Essien To Stay At Chelsea After Crunch Talks

    Midfielder Michael Essien has been told he is a required player at Chelsea next season. The People says the Ghanaian has been mentioned among the likes of Didier Drogba, Jon Obi Mikel and Jose Bosingwa as players that could pave way for a new set of stars at Stamford Bridge.

    But Drogba had talks this week and will stay, and Essien had similar discussions days earlier.

    The club will again step up their game as they hunt for the Champions League trophy they crave -but Blues officials have told midfield enforcer Essien that he should have no worries as he is still in their plans. Essien, 28, has four years left on his Chelsea contract.
