Garbaharey — Heavy fighting is still continuing in southern Somalia town of Garbaharey as death and injury casualties were reported.

The fighting started early Monday morning after fighters loyal to Al shabaab movement, which the United States charges with being Al Qaeda’s affiliates in the horn of African nation.

Reports emanating from the town suggested that at least ten people were killed and nearly twenty others injured in the fighting today.

A number of volleys of artillery barrages were reported to have pounded the town of Garbaharey where Somali forces confiscated from Al shabaab days ago.

Mohamoud Sayid Adam, Somali MP at the town, told Shabelle that Al shabaab made 11 attempts to recapture the town though all ended in vain.
