Kuvango — The district of Kuvango, in southern Huila province, needs more than 200 teachers, on Sunday said the head of the education sector, Domingos Luis.
The source said that the education sector faces serious shortages of staff, since those who had been admitted during the 2009 and 2010 public tender abandoned the area claiming better accommodation conditions.
There is also a lack of schools, mainly in the communes of Vicungo and Galengue, with an estimate of more than 4,000 children out of the education system.
Some 16,000 students were enrolled during the current academic year.
