Gov Saraki hails father, asks aggrieved party members to return

Ilorin – Gov. Bukola Saraki of Kwara has appealed to aggrieved members of the PDP who left in the wake of the primaries to return to the fold.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Masud Adebimpe in Ilorin, Saturday, the governor commended them for the overwhelming support given to the PDP in the just-concluded general elections.

The governor declared that the party’s victory at the polls was for all  and that there was,” no victor and no vanquished.”

 He solicited for the people’s support for the in-coming administration of the Governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, to enable him to succeed in office.

“The fact that we were able to record these remarkable results despite the very serious challenges that our party faced in the build up to the primaries, shows how firmly grounded our party is, and how overwhelming our support base is.

“For this, credit must be given to our great leader, Dr Olusola Saraki, the Waziri of Ilorin whose enduring political legacy has enabled us to build a party that has come of age.”

He praised the Waziri for handing over to them a political structure which assisted his administration to accomplish all he was able to achieve in the last eight years.

Saraki observed that the Waziri’s “years of sacrifice and unrelenting commitment to the welfare of the people of the state, as well as his strength of character”, played a prominent role in his administration’s success story.

“He thanked traditional rulers and security agencies, lNEC, election observers and stakeholders for their roles during the elections.(NAN)
