Thiago Silva backs Clarence Seedorf to be future AC Milan coach

Thiago Silva believes Clarence Seedorf is good enough to rub shoulders with the coaching elite at AC Milan, and has backed him to become a future coach, perhaps as an assistant to Massimiliano Allegri.

Seedorf, 35, and whose contractl as a Milan player expires at the end of this term, has been linked with a move to Brazil, with both Corinthians and Flamengo reportedly interested.

But Thiago Silva feels the club would benefit if they kept him on board.

“I would be happy if Clarence became our coach; the coach Allegri though would be less happy I believe,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Jokes aside, in prospect Seedorf can become the best coach in the world. He has it all to do so. He has charisma, he knows football.

“In reality he is already a coach on the pitch.”

The Brazilian defender did however have praise for Allegri too.

“Allegri’s philosophy is to bring out the wickedness of a player on the ball. He just doesn’t want the ball to be kicked anywhere. He wants pressing and marking from the strikers,” he said.

The Rossoneri meet Bologna on Sunday as they look to extend their lead over Inter in Serie A after Leonardo’s men beat Cesena 2-1 with two last-gasp goals from Giampaolo Pazzini on Saturday.
