Information reaching Peacefmonline.com indicates that the acclamation process at the Ketu North Constituency in the Volta and Techiman North in the Brong Ahafo region have been disrupted by some angry youth. According to reports, the angry youth believed to be supporters of the former candidate in the 2008 election in the Ketu North constituency stormed the centre where the acclamation was to be held and vandalized the place, causing the delegates and the party executives to run for dear lives. Reports gathered say the irate youth claim there is some form of discrimination against their candidate, the former Regional Minister, Samuel Kofi Dzamesi who interestingly did not contest.

Harare — Zimbabwe police have raided the offices of the country’s largest arts festival after it opened with a play depicting dictatorship in Africa.
Four organisers of the Harare International Festival of the Arts were taken for questioning by the police and were later released without any charges.
But the organisers believe the arrest was in connection with the satire that depicted an ailing, elderly leader haunted by protesters.
The play, titled Treasure, also touched on corruption in diamonds trade and police brutality, which resonates with many Zimbabweans.
