Bosaso — The president of Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Puntland on Friday called for holding Somalia’s presidential and parliamentary elections before August.

Speaking to the reporters in Bosaso town, about 1500 km north of Mogadishu, Abdurrahman Mohamoud Farole, the president of Puntland said that the parliament of Somalia is needed to live up its role to preparing how the election could be held in an easy and transparent way.

The president also talked about the deteriorating security situation of the regions under Puntland control.

He said the insecurity activities in the region are masterminded by what he called culprits decided to destroy the existence of Puntland.
