Galka’yo — At least one person has been slain and 6 others injured after the militias of two fraternal tribes clashed in restive Galka’yo town, about 700 kilometers north of Mogadishu.
The clash came after a prominent religious figure was gunned down by armed men at the center of Galka’yo.
During the confrontation, all businesses and the movements of ordinary people were put on hold.
In a related story, Puntland’s new administration has imposed a nighttime curfew on the town of Galka’yo in an attempt to curb the repeated insecurity activities in the town.
