Lubango — Angola may not be represented at Olympic Games to take place in London, England in 2012 due to the difficulties the country face in its preparation sessions for the African qualifying competition in Morocco.
The fact was disclosed Wednesday in Lubango, southern Huila province, by national plate shooting champion, Paulo Silva.
The specialist said that the preparation sessions are almost invalid, as they are restrict only to Lubango based fields and national tournament.
According to him, the African of Morocco is extremely important as it is the only competition, in cycle of four years, deemed to qualify the single representative of the continent to the Olympic Games in London.
In addition to Paulo Silva, Angola will be represented in Morocco on 25-29 May by shooter Jorge Perestrelo from Benguela, Pigui Chaves (Luanda), Érica Andrade (Luanda), as well as by juniors Tiago Silva (Lubango) and António Chanes (Luanda).
Angola has already participated in the Olympic Games twice: first in 1996 in Atlanta, United States, in representation of Paulo Guga and in 2000 in Sidney (Australia) with Paulo Silva.
