Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said the club have already made moves towards securing Hugo Lloris after a stellar season from the goalkeeper.

The shot-stopper has been a clear stand out for OL, who have the second best defensive record in Ligue 1 this season, largely due to his resilience, and his performances have not gone unnoticed in England, with several Premier League clubs rumoured to be interested.

But Aulas realises the importance of having the stalwart as part of the playing squad for years to come and is looking to secure a new deal.

“I met with Hugo just before he left the national team to inform him that we’re ready to enter the negotiations,” the supremo told French radio station RMC.

“We’d like to have this wrapped up within a month and give him the good terms that he deserves and that Olympique Lyonnais want.”

The 24-year-old has kept 10 clean sheets this season and has cemented his spot as the French No. 1.

Lyon will aim to conclude talks with Lloris, who has attracted interest from numerous clubs including English Premier League side Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.
