Policeman licks private part of a toddler

A police Constable attached to the Rapid Deployment Force in Kumasi, is in the grips of the law for allegedly having indecent sex with a toddler.

Constable Paapa Nyaaba, a native of Navrongo in the Upper East Region, was said to have collected the girl and licked her private part in a house at Adum on Monday, at about 9:20a.m.

The baby’s mother following a tip off, bumped into the policeman enjoying himself and raised an alarm that led to his arrest.

The constable was sent to the Railway Police Station, where he was detained until Tuesday when he was handed over to the regional headquarters.

Police Chief Inspector Mohammed Yusif Tanko of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit, confirming the story to the Times newspaper stressed that the Command was leaving no stone unturned to investigate the matter.

Giving some background, the Chief Inspector noted that on the day in question, the policeman was said to have gone looking for his girlfriend at Adum. There, he did not find the said girl but saw the toddler in the company of her mother and another lady.

The victim’s mother, the police said, decided to go and buy something and left the baby in the care of the lady. During the period, constable Nyaaba allegedly picked the girl and started licking her private part.

According to the Chief Inspector Tanko, the lady saw the picture and went to inform the mother who rushed into the house, snatched the baby from him and raised an alarm which attracted some neigbours to the scene.

Constable Nyaaba has given his statement to the police and he is on an enquiry bail pending the outcome of the investigation.
