At least eight people were killed and 13 others wounded after public vehicle had hit a land-mine in southern Somalia on Tuesday.
According to BBC Somali edition the vehicle was carrying passengers to Luuq district in Gedo region and had hit a landmine in a road between Eel Barde and Luuq Ganaane districts in southern Somalia.
Eel Barde district commissioner, Ibrahim Omar Dhere told BBC that the dead people were fleeing from the deadly clashes in southern Somalia between Al-Shabaab militias and government soldiers.
He adds that they will send emergency aid but the area is too far from the district.
Dhere said that he informed Somali government officials in Luuq district and accused Al-Shabaab planted the landmine that killed the civilians.
